Any bias based on caste, religion, language, region, or ethnicity is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate service termination and permanent blacklisting of the client.
No verbal or physical abuse:
Shouting, threats, insults, or physical harm toward house helpers are strictly prohibited. Any abusive behavior will lead to immediate cancellation of services and may be reported to relevant authorities.
Fair and dignified treatment:
House helpers must always be respected and valued as professionals. Clients are required to provide a healthy, safe, and respectful working environment that upholds dignity, fairness, and mutual trust.
Access to basic facilities:
House Helpers must be provided clean drinking water, proper sanitation, and decent meals. For live-in staff, employers must also arrange safe sleeping space and ensure essential daily living needs are met.
No retention of IDs or documents:
Clients are prohibited from keeping house helpers personal IDs, certificates, or original papers. Such violations of worker rights will lead to immediate service suspension, penalties, and possible legal consequences.
Privacy and safe working conditions:
House Helpers’ privacy must be respected, with no monitoring in private spaces or rest hours. Employers must ensure a secure, respectful, and safe environment is maintained at all times.
No overburdening with additional tasks:
House Helpers must perform only agreed duties. Extra work beyond their job description is not allowed unless mutually agreed upon, with fair compensation provided to ensure dignity and respect.
Parties or celebrations:
Clients must inform House helpers in advance about events or gatherings. Extra duties should not be imposed without prior agreement, and any additional workload must be fairly compensated to ensure respect and fairness.
Guests in the house:
Clients must clearly inform house helpers about guest presence. House helpers cannot be expected to serve beyond agreed duties unless prior consent is given and fair compensation is provided for additional responsibilities.
Extended Working Hours:
House helps are not obligated to work beyond their scheduled hours. Repeated or consistent requests for overtime are unacceptable and may result in termination of services.
Overtime policy:
If a House helper is required to work extra hours repeatedly despite reminders, an overtime fee of ₹100 per hour will be charged, ensuring fair compensation for additional time and effort.
Rest time:
House helpers are entitled to regular daily breaks. Live-in house help must have 10–11 hours of uninterrupted rest each day. Exceptions apply only in emergencies, ensuring their health, dignity, and well-being.

- House helps must receive 10–11 hours of uninterrupted rest daily. Adequate downtime ensures well-being, energy, and enthusiasm, enabling them to deliver quality care and service while maintaining health and professional dignity.

- The employer must grant the house helper a 2-hour afternoon rest period. This rest time supports the house helper’s well-being and productivity. Failure to comply may lead to disciplinary action.
- Clients must ensure house helpers are not subjected to extended working hours and receive adequate breaks. Failure to provide rest may result in termination of services.
- For example, a house helper starting at 6:00 AM with a 1-hour break should finish by 9:00 PM. With a 2-hour break, the workday may extend to 10:00 PM.
Confidentiality of Financial Matters:
Employers must not discuss service provider fees or the helper’s salary with the house help. Repeated reminders about salary payments are discouraged. Maintain all interactions respectful and professional.
Medical Duties:
House helps, unless explicitly employed as caregivers, are not trained to administer medication or provide medical care. Employers must not assign medical responsibilities beyond their training or role.
Pet Care Responsibilities:
Standard house help services do not include feeding, bathing, or walking pets. Such tasks should only be assigned if explicitly agreed upon between the employer and service provider.
Heavy Lifting:
House helps are not expected to lift or move heavy furniture or objects. Assigning such tasks may risk physical injury and is beyond the scope of their standard duties.
Outdoor Work:
House helpers are mainly responsible for indoor housekeeping. Tasks like yard work, gardening, or outdoor maintenance are not included in their duties unless agreed upon separately in advance.
Childcare:
Full-time babysitting, school pickups, or managing children’s routines are not part of house help services. Clients needing childcare must hire a dedicated nanny to ensure proper care and supervision.
Deep Cleaning:
House helpers are not responsible for intensive tasks like deep cleaning, oven cleaning, floor scrubbing, or heavy cleaning. These duties should not be assigned and are better managed by professional cleaning specialists.
Cleaning High or Inaccessible Areas:
House helps are not expected to clean ceiling fans, high windows, or other elevated surfaces without proper tools and safety precautions to prevent risk of injury.
Car/Bike Washing:
Cleaning or washing vehicles is classified as an outdoor task and does not fall within the responsibilities of a house help. Such duties should not be assigned.
Washing of Clothes:
General hand-washing of laundry is not included in standard house help duties. Only specific items, such as whites, may be hand-washed when explicitly requested by the employer.
Washing Undergarments:
Employers must not ask house helpers to hand-wash undergarments. Such items should be handled personally or machine-washed to maintain hygiene and uphold personal dignity and respect.
Body Massage or Oil Application:
House helpers are not permitted to give massages, apply oil, or use body creams. These personal care tasks are strictly restricted and should never be requested or assigned to them.
Extended Work Locations:
House helpers are employed for one household only. Their services cannot be shared in Bengaluru or extended outside Bangalore. Any violation of this rule will lead to strict action or termination.
